Drought conditions continue to decline in portions of the Raccoon Valley Radio area.
All of Guthrie County, along with the majority of Greene and Dallas counties are abnormally dry, while the extreme northeastern corner of Dallas County and the northwestern portion of Greene County is in a moderate drought.
The Raccoon Valley Radio area hasn’t seen a lot of precipitation in September. According to the National Weather Service, Jefferson reported 1.33 inches of rainfall for September and normally there is about 3.13 inches. Perry had 1.43 inches compared to the normal monthly average for precipitation in September with 3.44 inches. Guthrie Center saw 1.32 inches of rainfall for last month with a normal monthly average of 3.61 inches.
