An organization that supports Greene County youth is having a fundraiser.
The Greene County 4-H Foundation has National 4-H Week signs available for $10. These signs are to be posted in front of a residence during National 4-H Week, which is October 3rd-8th. Greene County Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says the signs are generic and can be used for future National 4-H Weeks. She explains the important role the 4-H Foundation plays for kids.
“It is super critical to the programming and opportunities for the youth. Any programming I do with Clover Kids or just youth in the community, so any camps, projects, workshops, these career exploration camps, all of that funds those 4-H events. But additionally, the 4-H scholarships, trips for 4-H’ers, awards, trophies at the (county) fair and things like that, the 4-H Foundation also helps fund that.”
Contact the Greene County Extension Office in Jefferson at 515-386-2138 or stop by to purchase a sign.
