The gauntlet of a schedule continues for the Perry football team when the Bluejays travel to Bondurant to take on the 8th ranked Bluejays of Bondurant Farrar in a 7:30 kickoff. Bondurant is 4-1 on the season and will look to bounce back following a 36-20 road loss to Carlisle last week. Star running back Titus Cram was knocked out of the game for the Bluejays and his status for tonight is unknown. Cram has been dominant this year for Bondurant. leading class 4A in rushing yards with 875. The junior is one of the top prospects in the class of 2024 and has already secured several Power 5 conference offers.
“We will definitely have our hands full with him,” stated Perry Head Coach Bryce Pierce. We have worked a lot on our tackling this week and the importance of attacking low. If our corners come up high on him, it won’t be a pleasant ending for them.”
Perry enters tonight with a mark of 1-5 after a 49-0 loss to Indianola. The Bluejays will once again be a heavy underdog with 20 players suiting up for varsity tonight.
“It’s just tough to duplicate game speed in practice when we don’t have bodies. Our coaches are creative in coming up with ways to try and simulate game speed but it’s really tough.”
