With a new month starting up soon that means more activities happening with the Perry Public Library.
Library Director Mary Murphy reminds everyone of their Crafternoon event on October 1st from noon to 4:30pm at the library community room where participants can craft for free.
“Just for some time alone so you can do the crafts that you enjoy and you won’t have any interruptions like at home. But you could like leave that phone at home and just enjoy crafting for four hours.”
Children’s Librarian Suzanne Kestel says they are bringing back a program they did several years ago of a Teddy Bear Sleepover at the library on Monday for children ages 2-5 with an accompanying adult.
“Have you ever wondered what Teddy Bears do while you’re asleep at night? So we are going to figure this out. Bring your stuffed animal, and it’s important that you bring one that you’re willing to leave overnight. And then you pick up your Teddy Bear or plush the next day and you might have a picture or two to show what they got into overnight.”
Kestel adds children can bring their stuffed animals at 5:30pm on Monday for an evening party where they will play games and enjoy a snack. Then each child will receive a free goodie bag before they can pick them up Tuesday afternoon. She notes this is a free event, but registrations are required by contacting them at 515-465-3569.
