The Boys And Girls Of Central Southwest Iowa is encouraging farmers to take time during harvest season to grab a meal.
Executive Director Heather Scheider says every Friday in the month they will serve the public a different hot meal. Schneider says the meals will include scalloped potatoes and ham, a pulled pork sandwich, tater tot casserole and chicken and noodles. She explains why they are putting together these meals.
“We just figured it was a good way to get hot meals to farmers in the field and community members. And we really had a great turnout in past years.
She notes that each meal will be $10 that includes a drink and dessert. All the proceeds will go towards the Boys and Girls Club Of Central Southwest Iowa’s after school programming for the Adair-Casey Elementary and Junior High Students.
