This past weekend the city of Stuart had their their biggest cook off of the year and it was considered a success
Organizer Russ Wagner says The Best of the Block BBQ Cook-Off was a two day event with a community chili feed, barbeque competition, bags tournament, karaoke competition and also other kids events. Wagner says the event was met with some rainy weather conditions on Friday but the city of Stuart still showed up all weekend long.
“We had good turnout. We had a great pie auction, gathered all the meat after the judging, and the line was all the way down the block for, geez, about an hour and 15 minutes, I think we served from 630 to 8pm.”
Wagner says they raised over $1,000 in this event which will all go to the Stuart Cottage Pantry.
