Greene County lost a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference volleyball match in State Center to West Marshall last night in five sets, while Paton-Churdan dropped a home match to Ar-We-Va (Westside) in Rolling Valley Activities Conference action in four sets.

Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams fell 25-27, 25-23, 30-28, 18-25, 14-16. “This was a tough one to give up. We fought hard dor five straight sets all the way to the final point. No other explanation other than we just fell short. Experiences like that make us stronger, so we can still benefit a great deal from the match.”

The Rams fell to 3-1 in the conference and 11-5 overall while the Trojans improved to 3-1 in HOIAC action. Greene County was led in kills by Bella Schroeder with 16. Kaylee Stalder had 11 kills with six from Emma Shipley, five for Emma Ewalt, and four for Payton Kokenge. Katrina Heuple led in digs with 11 and Alexa Peters had 10. Graci Cooklin had five digs with four from Natalie Heupel Schroeder, Shipley, and Natalie Heupel each had two blocks and Natalie Heupel dished out 35 assists.

Coach Makayla Sparr’s P-C Rocketss lost 21-25, 15-25, 25-15, 9-25, to remain winless on the season. Paige Teeples led her team in kills with five, digs with eight, and in ace serves with three. Bailey Anderson had two blocks and both Anderson and Emma Stream had six assists.
