An annual event for one school in Perry is happening tomorrow that is a culmination of a three week fundraiser.

St. Patrick’s School is hosting its Light Up the Knight at Dewey Field tomorrow. Organizer Jody Lutterman tells Raccoon Valley Radio the event starts at 5pm with a $5 meal of pork loin sandwiches, chips and a bottle of water, along with a bounce house and other inflatables such as a human-sized inflatable ball, inflatable horses and blaze pods that are like a Whack-A-Mole game. Then starting at 7:30pm will be when everyone lights up their items that they either donated for during the fundraiser or purchased that evening and will walk around the track.

Lutterman says the fundraiser serves as their main resource of funds for teachers and staff to use for supplementary items or trips throughout the school year that isn’t covered in the regular budget. She appreciates the continued community support for this endeavor.

“The kids really get into it and have a lot of fun. And I’m really always blown away by the different businesses around town that are so willing to donate and people that are so willing to help. And so it’s just a fun way to just celebrate the community of St. Pat’s.”

This event is for students and families of St. Pat’s. Additionally, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be there from 5-8:30pm playing music and making announcements.
