After having just two cross-country meets from late August through last Thursday, the runners from Greene County have the Roland-Story Norsemen Invitational today on the Riverbend Golf Course at Story City, their second meet in just three days.
Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s Rams were second in the team race on Tuesday at the West Marshall meet, but the girls did not have the minimum five runners for a team score. The highest finisher two days ago for Greene County was Olivia Shannon. The senior finished in second place, the highest finish for any Ram, male or female, this season. The finish was also the highest for Shannon in her cross-country career. She’s a track & field state place winner in the 200 meter dash, but runs the five kilometers (3.1 miles) in the Fall.
