harvick-beals

A Jefferson teen was recently sentenced to probation for a January incident.

According to court documents, 18-year-old Harvick Beals pled guilty to a Class D Felony for possession with intent to deliver under 50 kilograms of marijuana. As per the plea agreement, Beals received a deferred judgment from District Court Judge Joseph McCarville and was given two years of informal probation with Boone and Greene County Probation Services.

The charge stems from an incident on January 17th. A traffic stop by a Jefferson Police Officer led to the consent search of an apartment of the passenger, 21-year-old Makelia Brown, was involved in distributing marijuana with Beals. The search recovered several drug-related items including cash, scales, grinders and 31 grams of marijuana.

The other charges including the misdemeanors for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were dismissed. Court documents show Brown’s charges were dismissed by Judge McCarville.
