The Stuart Revitalization Group had a night of history for a large crowd Saturday night.
The Leaders, Legends and Characters embraced the history of Stuart at the Saints Center basement.
Local citizens in the community including Maso Hasty, Brenda Dudley, Katie Adams, Theresa Glass, Bill Sloss and Jim Rohert all played historic characters that lived in the city of Stuart. Organizer Bob Cook says the attendance was outstanding and he thought the audience learned a lot from the acts.
“I think they learned a broader vision of every character. Most of us of my age or older knew something about those characters. But we certainly didn’t know everything that we learned tonight. And that was part of it. And I think people had fun. It’s to get people together and have fun. And they did. Now listen to the laughter out there. That’s what we want. They’re all visiting, enjoying each other.”
The event concluded with a chili meal and desserts along with a drawing for multiple gift cards that were given away.
