Thursday, September 15th
5:26am: An Officer was advised of a “911 hang up” call in the 700 block of N. Cedar St. The Officer checked the area, but did not see anything out of the ordinary.
8:03am: An Officer was advised of Fox, that appeared to be sick, in the area of 401 E. Russell St. The Officer looked for the Fox, but did not locate it. The Police Department has limited options to deal with Fox that appear to be sick or injured.
10:20am: An Officer assisted Greene County EMS at Lincoln Way and Chestnut St.
11:13am: An Officer was advised of a “hit and run” accident in the 100 block of E. Lincoln Way. The Officer subsequently identified the driver’s / owners involved, and determined that the owners had made arrangements with one another to handle the situation. The accident was not reportable as defined by state law.
12:36pm: An Officer was advised of possible impaired driver on W. Lincoln Way. The Officer located the vehicle in the 100 block of N. Locust St. The driver was subsequently transported to the hospital for possible medical issues, and certain tests were performed to check for impairment. The completion of the investigation is pending laboratory results from those tests. The driver was also issued a citation for “Fail to Obey Stop or Yield Sign”.
12:43pm: An Officer assisted a motorist at N. Elm St. and Highway 30.
3:16pm: An Officer was advised of toilet paper blowing out of a yard in the 300 blk. of E. Harrison St. The Officer took no action, as it typically accepted that numerous residences get “tp’d” during homecoming week.
4:07pm: An Officer was advised of loud music coming from a vehicle in the 200 block of N. Olive St. The Officer located the vehicle and advised the owner to turn the music down.
4:37pm: An Officer was advised of a snake in a business in the 200 block of E. State St. The Officer searched for the snake, but did not locate it.
6:57pm: An Officer was advised of a juvenile that did not want to go home after her parent had told her to. The parent asked if an Officer would get the juvenile and take her home. The Officer advised the parent that an Officer could be present while they picked up their child, but an Officer would not give her a ride. The parent declined further assistance.
7:16pm: An Officer assisted Greene County EMS in the 100 block of N. Olive St.
8:44pm: An Officer was advised of a possible Marijuana smell at an apartment complex in the 300 block of N. Wilson St. The Officer checked the building, but did not find the source of the smell.
8:45pm: An Officer was advised of several juveniles throwing fire crackers out of a vehicle in the 300 block of W. Madison St. The Officer subsequently located the juveniles and warned them about their actions.
9:50pm: An Officer was advised of two suspicious vehicles in the 400 block of W. Madison St. The officer checked the area but did not find anything out of the ordinary. ******* As the result of a complaint made on September 15, 2022, Joshua Faller, of Jefferson, was issued a citation for “Noise Disturbance Prohibited”.
Friday, September 16th
9:30am: An Officer was advised of an abandoned bike in the 500 block of E. Harrison St. The Officer will transport the bike to impound if not claimed by the owner.
6:43pm: A traffic stop at Monroe St. and Wilson St. resulted in Ashley Adams, of Jefferson, being issued a citation for “Operating a Non-Registered Vehicle”.
9:41pm: A traffic stop at Monroe St. and Chestnut St. resulted in Emily Fisher, of Jefferson, being issued a citation for “Violation – Financial Liability Coverage”.
10:42pm: A traffic stop at Highway 30 and Mulberry St. resulted in Verbery Hunt, of Ames, being issued a citation for “Operating a Non-Registered Vehicle”.
******* As the result of complaints made on September 7 and September 12, 2022, Joshua Faller, of Jefferson, was issued two citations for “Noise Disturbance Prohibited”.
******* After the completion of an investigation that began on September 12, 2022, an Officer has charged a juvenile with “Theft 5th Degree”.
Saturday, September 17th
3:05am: An officer located an Open Door at 107 East Lincoln Way Street. A Key Holder was contacted to secure the business.
5:00am: Jessica Fester reported catching a Stray Dog near Elm and Grauer Streets. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.
10:08am: Josh Yuel reported two Suspicious Males going door to door near the 500 Block of North Chestnut Street. The officer located the subjects in the area and spoke with them. They were going door to door spreading Gospel to people.
10:46am: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of East Harrison Street resulted in Randall Lebeck of Grand Junction being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”
11:24am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 300 Block of North Ok Street.
7:12pm: Jessica Clipperton reported a male subject had purchased alcohol at 606 Hwy. 30 East and left the area driving in an Erratic manner. The officer performed a Traffic Stop with the subject in the 100 Block of North Cedar Street and spoke to the male. The officer observed no signs of impairment and allowed the subject on his way.
7:43pm: A Traffic Stop at Vine and Harrison Streets resulted in Daniel Strawn of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”
8:27pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 1300 Block of Ferguson Circle.
Sunday, September 18th
12:06am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 300 Block of North Locust Street for, “Vehicle Parked Facing Wrong Direction.”
12:40am: An officer performed a Traffic Stop with a vehicle which had no visible tail lights near North Elm and Gallop Road. The officer arrested Candice Marie Ortiz, 34 of Grand Junction for, “Driving While Barred – Aggravated. Ortiz was also cited for, “Failure to Carry Registration Card and Improper Rear Lamps.”
2:50am: An officer located an Open Door at 509 East Gallop Road and secured the business.
3:21am: An officer located an Open Door at 600 East Lincoln Way Street and secured the building.
1:15pm: Kayla Riedell reported a dog dragging a leash near 710 South Maple Street. The owner retrieved the animal as the officer arrived.
