Yesterday the Dallas County Supervisors held their weekly board meeting and discussed allocating funds provided by the American Rescue Plan toward purchasing 38 machines from RMB consulting for $124,570 to be approved at a future meeting. They also tabled a decision to purchase 15 new election tabulating machines from RMB for $329,900 as a capital improvement budget item pending review of how the current equipment will be disposed of.
A public hearing regarding the minor plat of Dawson acres was held and approved to split 34 acres in Beaver Township into two lots.. Then the Board gave the go ahead to send out a reason for proposal to vendors for printing services for the county. Right of way was purchased for $720 for 9 tenths of an acre to Mark and Maureen Frette for a culvert replacement project along G Trail. An excavator was approved for $230,600 to Titan Machinery to replace an older model excavator. The Board approved a Living Roadway Trust Grant for $1,000 that has been approved by the Iowa Department of Transportation as a matching grant to purchase a drone and a Go-Pro camera. The Board approved Holm Bridge Inspections as its consultant at a rate of $105 per hour when services are used.
