The Guthrie County Conservation Board recently approved a change to the prices to camp in Guthrie County.

Guthrie County Conservation Director Brad Halterman says that the rates at Nations Bridge and Lennon Mill will increase to $20 per night in 2023. Halterman says that the raise in price will be for one tent or camper and will affect everyone the same no matter the camping unit. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio part of the reason for the increase is the upgraded features in all of the parks.

“ Definitely (the last) 12 years and definitely the last few years we’ve seen an increase in the electric rates that we pay. We’ve seen an increase in the water rates that we pay. And we’ve, you know, the Conservation Board and the Conservation Department has held off on raising those camping rates as long as we can.”

Halterman also adds the conservation board did a lot of research before coming to this decision. The current cost to camp at Lennon Mill or Nations Bridge Parks is $15 for an electrical site and $10 for a non-electric site.
