The West Central Valley Wildcats were victorious in their game Friday night, and it was a nail biter basically the entire game. The Wildcats struck fast and hard, collecting all 13 of their points in the first quarter, while the Eagle Grove Eagles spread their 12 points evenly between the first and second quarters. West Central Valley was unable to score the rest of the night, but were also able to keep the Eagles from scoring as well.

When it came to stats for Eagle Grove, senior Tate Richardson led the team in passing yards, completing one of four passes for 15 yards. Fellow senior Cayden Shultz led the Eagles in rushing yards, with 108 yards on 11 rushes. When it came to receiving yards, junior Drake Canavan caught the only reception for Eagle Grove, gaining 15 yards. On defense, senior Korey Anderson led the Eagles with 7.5 tackles.

Nate Gerling led the West Central Valley team in passing yards, completing four of seven passes for 60 yards. Senior Kaedon Lindsay was the rushing leader for the Wildcats, going for 63 yards on 18 rushes, and scoring both touchdowns for the team. Fellow senior Braiden Beane led West Central Valley on receiving yards, catching all four completed passes for 60 yards. On defense, senior Ayden Phippen led the Wildcats in total tackles, racking up 10.5.

Unfortunately for the cross country teams, weather put a quick damper on things, and both the boys and girls meets were canceled. This could be good for the boys team at least, as there are no cross country meets this week, which could give them the time they need to get their injured runners healthy. Tonight the volleyball team will be in action though, as they host the Woodward-Granger Hawks.
