Greene County high school volleyball is off to its best start in more than a decade at 9-4 in matches and 22-10 in sets after finishing second in Saturday’s South Hardin Tournament in Eldora.
The Rams have a duo of front row hitters that have elevated their games to heights not recently seen in Greene County volleyball circles. Senior Bella Schroeder has 105 kills and junior Kaylee Stalder 88 through the first approximate 40% of the schedule. Certainly, digging, passing, and setting must align in order for hitters to do their jobs, so it’s a team effort. However, with two powerful strikers teams can’t focus their efforts on slowing down or stopping just one player.
South Hamilton visits Greene County in the high school gym in Jefferson on Thursday, Sept. 15 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. Varsity action starts around 6:30 p.m. and this is the only Homecoming week match in Jefferson.
