The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center football team beats Des Moines Christian in Des Moines in a nail bitter.
The Chargers win 32 to 27. AC/GC got off to a rough start with three fumbles on their first three drives and was down 13 to 8 at halftime. In the second half, the momentium quickly switched with the Chargers grabbing an onside kick and then went 8 plays and 33 yards for a Seth Reno three yard touchdown and a two conversation for their first lead in the game. And then AC/GC forced a punt on defense and scored again going 86 yards in 10 plays and then scoring from a three yard touchdown with a two conversation tacked on to take a bigger lead 24 to 13 in the third quater.
In the fourth quater, Des Moines Christian cut the lead with a 30 yard pass from Tate Platte to Gavin Phillips to make the score 32 to 20. The Lions would score again to with a pass from Platte to Owen Fadden to make the score 32 to 27. The Chargers would eventually fumble while trying to run out the clock to win the game and Des Moines Christian would take the ball at the 48 yardline of the Chargers. The AC/GC defense held up in the end causing a fumble. They improve to (2-1) on the season and now enter district play next week against West Central Valley.
