According to a recent report, Dallas County was ranked as one of the top healthiest counties in the country. 

The U.S. News and World Report showed that Dallas County was the 11th healthiest county nationally? based on 89 different metrics. Dallas County Health Department Public Information Officer Ann Cochran says there are different factors taken into account for the ranking. 

“Factors that were compared include things like how easy it is to access healthcare, availability of affordable nutritious food, clean water and adequate housing and the level of education most adults have in our county. Those things all are positives for Dallas County and it (is) reflected in that study.”

The metrics are distributed across 10 health and health-related fields to determine the county’s ranking.
