For residents of Greenfield and surrounding communities there will be a discussion over the latest CO2 pipelines that are proposed to pass through Iowa to capture carbon.
The presentation is called “Eminent Domain and CO2 Pipelines, Is This Right For Iowa,” which is a part of the Warren Cultural Center Successful Communities Series. Community Activist and giving the presentation, Jan Norris says that three companies have signed on to be a part of those pipeline plans that includes POET LLC. Norris explains this presentation will look at the facts and update the public on what is going on.
“It’s important for the Greenfield area because POET has signed on and only some of their plants are in the phase one group and other plants are in the Phase two group. And the Iowa Utilities Board has decided that the phase two group people don’t need to get the same information at the same time as the phase one. So this would be a great opportunity for residents in the Adams Adair Guthrie County areas to get more information about what is coming their way if these projects get approved.”
This presentation will address questions like “What is the purpose of these pipelines,” “What will happen to the farmland if they build these pipelines,” and many more. The discussion will take place at the Warren Cultural Center at 7pm tomorrow.
