Friday, September 2nd
8:59am: An officer took a report of an Attempted Burglary to a garage in the 400 Block of North Pinet Street. The subject(s) did not enter into the garage, but did damage a garage door.
6:36pm: Derrik Bauer advised a deer had run into the side of a parked vehicle at 106 West Washington Street. The deer was killed from the impact of striking the vehicle. The deer was removed from the area.
8:52pm: A caller advised of a female walking on the roadway in the 1400 Block of North Elm Street. The officer advised the subject to stay out of the roadway and stay on the shoulder.
9:22pm: Karina Kendall advised that her Pitbull had bit her two-year-old in the face. She was not in the room during the event. The animal has been removed from the residence and placed in a 10-Day Quarantine. The incident remains under investigation.
11:41pm: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 402 North West Street.
Saturday, September 3rd
12:11am: A deputy advised an officer that while the deputy was on a Traffic Stop north of town on Hwy. 4, a vehicle passed his location and was weaving on the roadway. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
2:29am: An officer checked on a vehicle driving on the race track at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The officer spoke to the subjects, who had been in charge of the truck pulls and were camping at the facility.
10:11am: Suesitta Schmitt reported a subject standing in the roadway in the 1400 Block of North Elm Street. The officer advised the subject to leave the area, which they did.
11:10am: Paul Genco spoke to an officer with concerns about a Civil Property Issue occurring in Jefferson. He was advised to seek an attorney.
11:09am: Kristen Roberts reported two dogs near the 1200 Block of North Elm Street. The officer did not locate the reported animals.
2:45pm: Sandy Groves located a wallet on the sidewalk in the 200 Block of East Lincoln Way Street. The officer is working to return the wallet to the owner.
3:30pm: Krystal Thomas reported a possible Harassment occurring with a female subject. The officer advised both parties to stay away from each other.
5:35pm: A Traffic Stop in the 500 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Garrett Meinecke of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
7:35pm: Chris Murphy advised his dog had bitten his nephew at 507 West Madison Street. The animal was removed from the residence and will be euthanized and tested for Rabies in Ames.
Sunday, September 4th
7:10am: Hy-Vee reported finding a poster for a Missing Adult Male on their business door at 106 West Washington Street. The officer verified that it is a Missing Subject from Grand Junction.
7:10am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medica Call in the 600 Block of West South Street.
1:13pm: Paulette Stampe reported two stray dogs in the 100 Block of East Central Ave. The officer did not locate the reported animals.
6:35pm: Mia Carman reported a Possible Intoxicated Driver entering Jefferson on Old 30. The officer did not locate the vehicle.
Monday, September 5th
12:15am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 200 Block of North Pinet Street.
3:29pm: Cheryl Mason reported she had been assaulted by a known male while staying at the Cobble Stone Hotel, located at 771 Wild Rose Lane. The officer’s investigation has led to a requested Arrest Warrant for, Franklin Nahun Martinez Ortiz, 32 of Hampton for, “Domestic Abuse Assault – Serious.
3:58pm: An officer spoke to two sets of parents dealing with a Civil Property Issue after their children had ended a relationship with each other. Both parties were advised to seek the assistance of an attorney.
5:28pm: Josh Koopman reported his vehicle had received a Door Ding while parked at 508 North Elm Street. The officer is investigating.
