A fundraiser took place last Saturday in Menlo and the participation raised a large amount of money.

The Jensen Family hosted their third annual Cruisin For A Cure and raised funds for a rare disease called Huntington’s Disease, that has severely affected them. Cruisin For a Cure invited those motorcycles, classic cars, sports cars or any other vehicle to ride in a group around Guthrie and Adair counties while enjoying local restaurants. Organizer Holly Jensen says they had 100 participants and raised close to $17,000 from sponsors and the community.

“The support we get every year is incredible and this year surpassed anything we could have imagined and we can’t wait to make next year bigger and better.”

She says all proceeds will go directly to the HDSA Center of Excellence at University of Iowa for research to find a cure for Huntington’s Disease. The event started the cruise at Menlo and then went to bars in Stuart, Greenfield and Panora.
