Last night the West Central Valley volleyball and cross country teams were in action, both hosting their respective events. Look for results and stats after the weekend. The West Central Valley football team will be in action tonight, as they host the Red Oak Tigers.
Last year the Wildcats lost to the Tigers, but hope to turn things around this time. Both teams lost about the same amount of seniors, so the returning upperclassmen will definitely need to step things up to help lead their teams.
For stats leaders so far this year, in passing yards senior Chase Roeder leads the Tigers with 5 completions on 7 attempts, 125 passing yards and 1 passing touchdown. For the Wildcats, junior Nate Gerling leads the team with 5 completions on 10 attempts, 70 passing yards, and 1 passing touchdown.
Red Oak’s senior Riley Fouts leads their team in rushing yards, with 9 rushes, 152 yards and 3 touchdowns. For West Central Valley, senior Blaise Beane leads the team in rushing yards, with 6 rushes and 66 yards.
In receiving yards, senior Dawson Bond leads the Tigers, with 1 reception for 90 yards and a touchdown. Bond also leads in total tackles for Red Oak, with 17 tackles, and 2 tackles for a loss of yards.
For the Wildcats, senior Andrew Morrison leads the team in receiving yards, with 2 receptions for 40 yards and 1 touchdown, and 57 rushing yards for 1 touchdown. Senior Blaise Beane also leads West Central Valley in total tackles, with 6 tackles and an interception.
