The Stuart Revitalization is looking for the best barbecue in the area and the registration to enter into the contest is approaching. 

The “The Stuart Best Of The Block BBQ Cook Off,” will be a two day cooking contest from September 23-24 and the competitive categories will include the best spare rib, pork butt, whole chicken, brisket and a grand champion selection. 

Organizer Russ Wagner tells Raccoon Valley Radio all the proceeds they collect from this competitive contest will be donated to the local food pantries. 

“ For those that don’t know the food banks, the cottage pantries, the recipient usage is up 75 percent this year. So they are in need. That is our charitable organization for this event.” 

Wagner says they will also giveaway $3,500 in cash prizes to winners.The deadline to register a team is today but they will take late registrations until September 4th at 2pm. The fee per team will be $200 and for more information about registration click the link here.
