Dave Wright has had an atypical start to his career as Activities Director for the Greene County School District. There was the District baseball rainout with no rain in his first week on the job. Then the sod situation at Linduska Field in Jefferson prompting moving what was going to be the home opening football game with ACGC on Aug. 26 to Ogden High School’s field last Saturday night vs. the Chargers. Plus, a Saturday weather forecast that made it sound like the game would be played in wet conditions, if it could be played at all. The game was played with Greene County winning 20-14.

Coach Wright talked about Saturday’s events. “It’s been quite a start to the season, but I was glad to get the game in and was proud of our team. They played well and with some resilience, so it was great to get that in. Obviously, the conditions were iffy and the forecast was iffy, so we just had that window and fortunately we were able to get done just before the deluge let loose. Most people were out of the stadium when it hit, so that was good!”

The Rams play a true road game this week when they travel to Dewey Field in Perry on Friday night to take on the 0-2 Blue Jays in the annual Battle for the Cowbell. Coverage on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com starts at 6:20 p.m. with kickoff at 7.
