A class that proved successful earlier this year is returning next week in Jefferson.

Greene County ISU Extension, Iowa Central Community College and the Greene County Career Academy are teaming up to once again host the Career Readiness: Resume and Cover Letter Workshop. The program will be held on Wednesday, September 7th from 3-5pm at the Career Academy. Topics that will be covered include how to write a proper cover letter and resume, while also expressing yourself correctly, clearly and effectively in writing.

Greene County Extension Director Lori Mannel talks about how this class went this past spring.

“They really got into it. We thought we could do one night and be done. It ended up being two evenings. So this we’re going to set for one time and if we have enough demand, we will offer it again. And if we have enough, we’re happy to set up some mock interviews. So I’m happy to call all of the HR (human resources) directors here in the community and they can do little 10-15 minute interviews and practice those interview skills as well.” 

The workshop is free but registration is required by September 6th by calling the Extension office in Jefferson at 515-386-2138 or stopping by to sign up.
