The Jeff Pease Memorial Fund hosts an annual fundraiser in the memory of Stuart native Jeff Pease and the fundraiser will change this year.

Coordinator of the memorial fund Tom Stiles says instead of a flag football tournament like in previous years, they will do a golf tournament this year to raise funds for academic scholarships for graduating seniors of West Central Valley High School. He explains that these scholarships will be awarded in the name of Jeff Pease because he meant so much to the community.

“It has  been five years already that we lost Jeff. And as the years go on, people may hear the name Jeff Pease and not necessarily realize who he was. And really, he was a staple of the community. He was a teacher, driver’s ed instructor, coach, EMT for the Stuart, rescue booster club member. He was pretty involved across the board. And when Jeff passed away, it was something that we took upon ourselves to figure out how to remember Jeff and keep his legacy alive.”

Stiles says that they have already accepted all 24 spots for their four man golf tournament on September 3rd at the 5×80 Golf Course in Menlo at 9am. He adds that there will be raffle and silent auction items along with giveaways and a free will donation opportunity for anyone that wants to come out to the golf course. All proceeds will benefit the West Central Valley scholarship fund.
