A local library in Guthrie County is encouraging those interested in cooking or eating to bring their favorite dish every third Thursday of every month.

Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library Director Jeri Hawkins says their cookbook club has been gaining some traction with roughly 12 people coming to each class. Hawkins explains they choose a new cookbook every month and then give a recipe to each member of the club.

“So it gives you an opportunity to maybe try a new recipe to figure out if you like, the way that cookbook explains how recipes cook, if they’re easy, if they’re hard, and then we get to try something a little different that maybe you didn’t think about trying before.”

The next meeting for Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library Cookbook Club will be on September 15th at 6:30pm at the library in Guthrie Center.
