ACGC and Greene County begin the 2022 high school football season tonight at Ogden high school’s field. Most teams began last night and there were even 10 games around Iowa last week. The game is tonight in Ogden at 7 o’clock because of issues with new sod put down in June at Linduska Field in Jefferson.

The Chargers won 29-27 in overtime last year and they went on to lose just two games, both to Class 1A State Champion Van Meter. Greene County rebounded to win eight games in a row before finishing the campaign with eight wins and two losses. Both teams had heavy losses due to graduation. Both lost All-State players that accounted for much of the offense, and some defensive stalwarts graduated as well. That being said, the Chargers and Rams return some outstanding athletes and the expectation for 2022 is high for both.

Coverage on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com starts at 6:15 p.m. with kickoff at 7. The ACGC point of view can be heard on the KKRF2 stream.
