The Panorama Panthers football team is headed to Colfax to take on the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks in week one action as the Iowa High School Football season gets underway tonight.
The Panthers already hit the field once this season against the Perry Bluejays in a week zero matchup that saw the Panthers emerge victorious by a final score of 39-21 behind rock solid performances from a stout returning group that included Ryan Cogil who had 236 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, Cayden Van Meer who went 17/19 for 219 yards and a touchdown through the air, Braedon Draper who had 15 catches for 212 yards and a touchdown, Klayton Bremer who had 6.5 tackles along with two interceptions and one pick six and Keyton Van Gundy who had 9.5 tackles.
The Panthers and Tigerhawks faced off last season with the Panthers getting a 26-21 victory on the legs of Cogil who had 20 carries for 203 yards and two touchdowns last year against the Tigerhawks while Cayden Van Meer went 7/15 for 81 yards through the air.
Both of these teams graduated some seniors last year including Cole Bracewell for the Tigerhawks who was a factor in this game last year for the Tigerhawks went 19/41 for 200 yards and a touchdown through the air while rushing for 52 yards and a touchdown.
The Panthers will be looking to use some of their momentum from their first victory this season when they take on the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks tonight in Colfax beginning at 7 p.m. as the Panthers will continue to aim for balanced offense that is fast-paced as in their first game this year they racked up 469 yards of offense.
