The Minburn Public Library is hosting a fun event across multiple dates that will allow participants to create art that will be showcased later this year.
The Kids Creation Camp will take place today from 2:30-4 p.m. as well as September 2nd and September 23rd. Library Director Nicole Connick says they have been in their new location for a few years now and will host an open house on September 26th from 6-8 p.m. to celebrate which will feature some of the creations from the camp.
“They get to do a painting and I provide them with the paints and the canvass and the paint brushes anything that they’ll need, and they make a painting and then at our open house in September we will have them displayed on easels all around the library with their name, their age, the name of their piece, like a gallery, so they can invite their friends and family to come and see what they created.”
Connick tells Raccoon Valley Radio the open house will include refreshments among other activities celebrating the new location as they moved in October of 2020 but haven’t been able to celebrate the new location which Connick says boasts far more space than their previous location.
“There’s people that haven’t been to our new location yet and they’ll get to see that when they come and maybe see something that their child or grandchild painted and I just thought it was a great way to incorporate the community into being part of our open house.”
