The Perry football team will travel to Ogden tomorrow night to take on the Bulldogs in a 7:00 varsity kickoff. Perry enters play 0-1 after dropping a 39-21 week 0 matchup to Panorama. Ogden scrimmaged Woodward Granger last week in a game that didn’t count toward regular season standings.
The Bulldogs return their top 10 tacklers from a season ago including a pair of athletic linebackers in Cohl Burdette and Nathan Comer. Comer led the team in stops with 64 last year while Burdette was right behind him with 51.5 tackles.
Offensively, Ogden will look to compensate for losing their starting quarterback and running back with an elite trio of returning wide receivers. Jack Christensen, Cael Pearson and Dylan Perdue combined for 94 receptions last fall and over 1200 yards. The top two tight ends return as well with Hunter Meeks and Keaton Westburg.
The Bulldogs will turn to Carson Moorman and Colby Rohe to handle the quarterback position. Moorman is coming off an excellent baseball season while the strong armed Rohe is returning from a leg injury.
Perry’s ground game will certainly be tested against the veteran Ogden defense. Juan Hernandez and Keegan Snyder each rushed for over 100 yards behind an improved offensive line. Hernandez flashed the break away speed that had Perry coaches excited during fall camp while Snyder moved bodies from the fullback position.
