The Panorama Panthers volleyball team had their first match of the season on Tuesday dropping all three sets.

The Panthers volleyball team took the court for the first time this year in the regular season when they took on the West Central Valley Wildcats in Panora on Tuesday and were in a battle but ultimately came up short losing all three sets.

During the first set of the night the Panthers lost to the Wildcats 25-15, in the second set it was more competitive with the Wildcats winning 25-23 and in the third and final set the Wildcats emerged with a victory again by a score of 25-16 taking all three sets to win the match.

Looking at the stats throughout the match Jaidyn Sellers picked up right where she left off last season leading the way with kills with two on the night while also contributing nine blocks on the defensive side as well. Faith Recker led the way with assists with ten on the night and Jazmyn Sellers led the way with digs with 17.

The Panthers volleyball team have begun their season 0-1 but have plenty of positives to take away from their first match and will be looking to building on that in their next action which will be taking place today.

The first week of regular season volleyball will continue this week when the Panthers girls head to Coon Rapids-Bayard High School to take part in a varsity volleyball tournament beginning at 9 a.m. today versus the Audubon Wheelers and Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders.
