The Greene County High School Band is gearing up for an active fall season.

Band Director Wes Anderson says they are looking to perform at Saturday’s football game in Ogden when the Rams play Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the audience should expect a more “pep band” style of show. Anderson describes the preparation before the first performance of the year.

“The basic expectation is that we’re going to have the National Anthem sounding good, we’re going to have the school song sounding good, we’re going to have a couple of our field show tunes sounding good. And if we get that all on the field (that would be) amazing, that would be good. But if we just need to stay in the stands that for and just have it there for the whole night, that will be a little more simple for us.”

Anderson points out the pep band style show will basically remain the same with some possible changes for the rest of the home football games.

“My plan right now is to just keep the four tunes for the whole season, perhaps add a couple little showmanship, visual effects throughout the year as we go.”

Anderson is excited to have 46 students participate in band this year and how the students will progress throughout the marching band season.
