Friday night both the football and volleyball teams were in action, hosting Gatorade Scrimmages against the Madrid Tigers. This marks the unofficial start of the season for both teams, and next week the season really gets started, along with classes.
Tuesday will be a hot start to the volleyball season, as the Wildcats head to Panora to take on cross county rivals the Panorama Panthers. Last year when the teams met, the Wildcats pushed the match to 5 sets, but the Panthers were ultimately victorious, so WCV will be looking to change that this year.
Both cross country teams will be heading to meets hosted by the East Sac County Raiders. Other teams attending from the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area are the AC/GC Chargers, Panorama Panthers, Perry Bluejays, Ogden Bulldogs, Madrid Tigers and Woodward Academy Knights.
Finishing off the week, the football team will be heading to North Mahaska to take on the Warhawks. Last year the Wildcats hosted the Warhawks, and were able to come away with a 7-0 win.
