In Guthrie Center tomorrow there will be a concert to benefit the downtown mural.
The Guthrie County Arts Council has asked Chad Elliott who grew up and graduated high school in Guthrie Center to perform country and blues music. Elliot describes his concert for anyone that hasn’t been.
“A lot of (the music) can relate to anybody that grew up in a small town. I have got lots of songs about that, but also I have some good rocking songs that people can kind of rock around. If somebody wants to dance, they can dance. Sometimes it’s two steps or they swing. I bring kind of a whole collage of different types of music.”
Elliott writes his own songs but will also play well known music from Hank Williams Jr. and Johnny Cash. The concert will be held at the Guthrie Center Activity Center tomorrow at 3pm. The Guthrie County Arts Council will be accepting free will donations for the downtown mural.
