The Panorama Panthers football team will be making its way to Perry to take on the Bluejays for the first action this football season.

A week zero game will be taking place today when the Panorama Panthers travel to Dewey Field in Perry to take on the Perry Bluejays beginning at 7 p.m. tonight. Last season the Panthers finished out their year with an overall record of 1-7 while the Bluejays finished their year out with a record of 0-9 in a tough district that featured Norwalk, Bondurant-Farrar, Indianola, Carlisle and Boone.

The Panthers will be looking to see their reutnring players back out on the field for tonights game including running back Ryan Cogil who had a good season rushing the ball last year, with 96 carries for 542 yards at 5.6 yards per carry, four touchdowns and his longest rush being 70 yards for a touchdown which led all Class 1A District 7 football. Cogil also had six receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown as well.

Also, Klayton Bremer should be returning who produced on the defensive side with 47 tackles last  season with 36 of them being solo as well as 1.5 tackles for loss. Defensively the Panthers also notched eight interceptions last year with now graduated Austin Block getting two and now senior Braedon Draper also getting two.
