A long time resident of Guthrie Center is coming back to put on a concert for a good cause.

The Guthrie County Arts Council has asked Chad Elliot who grew up and graduated high school in Guthrie Center to perform country and blues music. Elliot describes what it means to be asked to come back to his hometown to put on a concert.

“The support is great back home. We’re doing this as a fundraiser, you know, and for this mural and to be able to use my talents and be supported in such a way from my hometown, it means everything to me.”

Elliot explains that he writes his own songs but will also play well known music from Hank Williams Jr. and Johnny Cash. The concert will be held at the Guthrie Center Activity Center on Sunday at 3pm. The Guthrie County Arts Council will be accepting free will donations.
