The Alzheimer’s Association holds walks across the nation and they recently held one in Panora last Saturday.
The Walk To End Alzheimers took place at Michael Mills Park in Panora on August 13th. Organizer Dave Grove says that they had a great turnout with 90 people participating in the walk. He adds their goal this year was to raise $27,000 but they came up just shy raising $23,000.
“But the good news is that folks can contribute to the walk all the way through the end of the year of course that is beneficial for tax purposes for folks writing it off but also it also gives a little bit more runway to hopefully meet that goal within the next couple of months”
Grove explains this was the second year having the walk in Panora and he wants to continue to make it a staple of the Guthrie County area.
“To make this a mainstay and a yearly addition to the calendar. And certainly it helps our community come together, but it also helps the cause, which is our main goal.”
