Dallas Center – Grimes girls cross country was able to put together a very productive 2021 season that led to another top three finish in the state race for the third consecutive year.

Mustang cross country was able to field four runners in the top 50 last year at state, and will be bringing back sophomore Maddy Stevens, senior Meredith McDermott, and junior Abbey Angus. Senior Dakota Newcomb and junior Vanessa Bickford will both be back, and both were able to finish in the top 60 of the state race last year.

The program has a large group out again for the 2022 season, and all are expected to be in the thick of the conference, district, and state championships as well.

DCG will be having their first race of the season one week from today when they race in Ames against Gilbert and other schools.
