There have been plenty of Dallas County participants in various events at the Iowa State Fair this year.
For static exhibits there were 19 blue ribbon winners along with four red ribbon winners. In the 4-H livestock and horticulture portion, there were 12 purple ribbons which included two first place finishes and three second places. There were also 16 blue ribbons winners and three red ribbons winners.
Also, in the 4-H world Sophia Garside was the Hunter Under Saddle Reserve Champion in grades 7-8 and 9-10, Kennedy Cheney was the Hunt Seat Equitation Champion for grades 7-8, while Sophia Garside was the Hunt Seat Equitation Reserve Champion for grades 9-10. Then, Kennedy Cheney was the Horse Showmanship Jr. Champion for grades 5-8. Additional awards for Cheney was the Western Horsemanship Champion grade 8 and the Western Horsemanship Jr. Reserve Champion.
Other Dallas County winners include FFA Horse: Champion Other Light Breeds: Sarah Tapken, ADM FFA, Adel, Gloria Janssen-Jensen of Adel claimed Best of Show in the Miniature Rooms competition for dollhouses and first place in Class 5 Open Class for dollhouses as well.
In Iowa Family Living Creative Arts Kathy Lewis of Adel took home 10 first place finishes and three second place finishes in multiple categories while Lucas Bauer of Adel took home two firsts and two seconds and Emery Bauer came in with one first and one second place finish all across multiple categories.
