The month of August marks the time where students will be reentering school and there is a special night to celebrate that this week in Perry.
Back To School Night at the Perry Farmers Market will take place from 4-7 p.m. Thursday. Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the event has been a popular one as people transition into thinking about getting back to school and there will be special guests including representatives from local area schools along with others such as the Dallas County Health Department.
“This has been a really popular event just like ‘Public Safety Night,’ a chance for the community to show their support for our different schools in the community as well as an opportunity to showcase some things that are going on with the schools. Each of the schools do their own official back to school night but this is really just our way to show support and get people out and about.”
Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio there will also be a school supply drive during the market and people are encouraged to bring down those needed supplies to the Chamber tent who will then work with the Dallas County New Opportunities to distribute those.
