It’s not quite time for competitions that count on the record for Greene County’s high school sports teams, but it’s getting close. A Pep Rally for the public starts at 5 p.m. today with a free-will offering meal provided by the Greene County Activities Booster Club on the Mahanay Bell Tower Plaza in downtown Jefferson. The meat for the meal is provided by Murphy Farms Meats. A Pep Rally with Fall sports teams and coaches begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Rams host South Central Calhoun in a 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 volleyball scrimmage that does not count on the record. It’s a JV/varsity scrimmage inside the air-conditioned comfort of the Greene County High School gym in Jefferson.

The football Rams go to Nevada on Friday, Aug. 19 for a scrimmage that does not count on the record. Coach Caden Duncan told Raccoon Valley Radio the scrimmage is at 6 p.m. and starts with the varsity squads playing two continuous clock 20-minute quarters. The JV and freshmen players will finish out the scrimmage.
