Today is the first day the Greene County High School football team is practicing in full pads. Head coach Caden Duncan told Raccoon Valley Radio the week started with players in helmets, t-shirts, and shorts, then shoulder pads were added, and today, it’s full pads with full contact.

The coach said today’s practice is from 7:30-9 a.m. “We’re not trying to grind anyone into the ground today, just want to get the pads popping a little bit.” He added that after today, teams may have as much or as little full contact as they like.

Greene County has a Friday, Aug. 19 scrimmage in Nevada at 6 p.m. with the varsity teams playing for two quarters, followed by the players on the lower levels.

The first game that counts on the record is against ACGC on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. in Ogden. The game was moved from Linduska Field in Jefferson to Ogden due to some issues with sod that was put down some weeks ago. The season opening contest between the Rams and Chargers can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
