The Stuart Library Foundation has put together a great way for young adults to travel and learn more about other cultures.

Board Member Russ Wagner says they are opening applications for their second “International Travel Scholarship,” on September 12th for people ages 18 to 25 from the West Central Valley District. Wagner explains that this scholarship will allow a party of two to visit whatever destination around the world they choose, except for State Department Red Zones. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio this program is funded and started from two unnamed individuals that want to see young people travel.

“These individuals have traveled to 72 countries and they felt that by that travel and the adventure that it posed for them, as, you know, travelers, they got to experience all of these different cultures and they thought that it would be an opportunity and an adventure for younger people in the West Central Valley community to share the same type of experience that they had.”

Wagner adds this is a great opportunity for anyone ages 18 to 25 that doesn’t have to have money to travel the world, to get that opportunity.  The first participants of the International Travel Scholarship visited Peru in South America. The Stuart Foundation Board will choose the finalist for the scholarship on November 21st. Participants don’t have to receive college credit to enter into this program.
