The first official day of practice came and went this week and now it’s time to look ahead to what the schedule will look like for boys and girls cross county for the Panorama Panthers.
The first day of practice was held on August 8th and now the work begins ahead of the first cross country meet for the Panthers. The season will officially begin when the Panthers head to the Gowrie Country Club at 5 p.m. August 25th for a JV/Varsity Invitational and from there the race is on in the regular season. After their first meet the Panthers won’t have wait long for another one as they will be headed to Madrid to take part in another JV/Varsity Invitational beginning at 5 p.m. September 1st
Last year at the state qualifying meet the Panthers fielded incomplete teams on both the boys and girls side but had four individual runners for the girls and two individual runners for the boys. Of those runners from a season ago only will be returning this year as the rest were lost to the most recent graduating class.
While last season ended for the Panorama Panthers cross country teams without runners at the state meet in Fort Dodge the Panthers will look to get back out on the courses this year and post good times while having their sights set on making it to the state meet.
