
Wednesday, August 10th
12:38pm: Joyce Rutheford reported debris on the roadway on the north side of the overpass. The officer removed the items from the road.
2:01pm: An officer investigated an accident in the 300 Block of North Elm Street. Two vehicles were southbound on North Elm Street, when a vehicle slammed on its brakes in front of one of the two vehicles involved in the collision. The unit swerved to avoid rear ending the vehicle and struck a vehicle in the other lane. A 1995 Freightliner, owned by Decker Truck Lines of Fort Dodge and operated by Roland Shaw of Jefferson, was the vehicle attempting to avoid the collision. He struck a 2011 Buick Lucerne, owned and operated by Lillee Deike of Algona. The semi had a reported $250.00 in damages, while the Deike vehicle had a reported $3000.00 in damages. The third vehicle involved left the scene.
9:31pm: The officer was called back to ER to assist with the patient from the earlier entry, who was attempting to leave the facility. The officer and a deputy assisted staff to gain compliance.
10:33pm: Dispatch advised of an Abandoned 911 Call from the area of Wilson and Central Streets. The officer did not find anyone needing assistance in the area.
Thursday, August 11th
3:08am: Officers were requested back at ER, located at 1000 West Lincoln Way Street, for an Unruly Patient.
11:00am: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.
2:46pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Greenewood resulted in Brian Cruz Gomez of Ames being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
7:40pm: Ben Jacobson reported a trailer parked on the street in the 200 Block of South Cedar Streets for several hours. The officer spoke to the trailer’s owner, who removed it from the street.
8:27pm: A deputy requested an officer to assist with a possible Domestic Situation at 1004 Railroad St. in Grand Junction.
10:00pm: An officer assisted a parent with a Suicidal Juvenile in the 200 Block of West Russell Street. The juvenile was taken to ER to be evaluated by a medical doctor.
11:21pm: Chase Goodman reported a Careless Driver on Hwy. 4, heading north towards Jefferson. The officer located and stopped the vehicle in the 1200 Block of South Elm Street and spoke to the driver. No signs of impairment were noticed by the officer and the subject was sent on their way.
