The Guthrie Center City Council held their regular meeting Monday.
The Council opened a public hearing on the water main project and Community Development Block Grant funds allocation. During the hearing, they discussed the immediate need to replace the water lines along highway 141 due to the age and condition and the significant history of the mains breaking. The project is 16 percent complete. The Council did not take action after the informative hearing.
The Council approved the Region XII contracts reflecting the contract extension of October 31st, 2022 along with taking down 44 ash trees with a fee of $700 and did not take action on the Grand Street brick repair quotes for further consulting with the county. Finally, the Council discussed the beginning stages of the Art on State mural, picnic table at Mitchell Park and Zipp’s Pizza Parking.
