Amelia Mapes, Winterset, was driving on I80 near the 113 mile marker, when she slowed for traffic.  Jonathan Wittern, Swisher, was traveling behind Ms. Mapes. Due to the placement of the sun, he was unable to see Ms. Mapes had slowed and clipped her vehicle.  No injuries were reported and damage to Ms. Mapes car was estimated at $8000.  Damage to Mr. Wittern’s vehicle was estimated at $5000.

Aug. 9

Jose Ventura Barrentos, Des Moines, was traveling east on 250th Street at V Ave, when Anthony Lawrence, Granger, pulled into the intersection and was hit by Mr. Ventura Barrentos.  No injuries were reported and Mr. Ventura Barrentos car had an estimated $8000.  Mr. Lawrence vehicle received an estimated $8000 damage and both vehicles were towed from the scene.  Mr. Lawrence was cited for Failure To Yield.  Mr. Centura Barrentos was cited for No Valid Driver’s License.

Aug. 10

Brittany Rudolf, age 32, 300 West St, New Virginia, was arrested on a warrant for Violated Probation Terms.
