Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers football has their first practice of the season coming up next week, as the timeframe is just over three weeks away from the first game of the season at Gilbert.
The Tigers will be keeping an eye on a lot of things during fall camp, and one of the things that will be key to watch is how the defense gels with a lot of starters returning.
The Tigers will be projected six players as starters from a year ago including three players in the secondary. ADM will be also bringing back five different players that were able to record 30 or more tackles on the year.
Vince Benetti will be one of the players to keep an eye on, as he put up 34 tackles, 4 sacks, and 15 tackles for loss on the year in a big junior campaign. Dane Beals also had a breakout year with 48 tackles, and will be the top returning guy in that department this year. In the secondary, Ben Smith and Jacob Crannell were both able to lead the team with two interceptions each last year, and will be looking for more this year.
The Tigers had hot and cold streaks defensively, as they were able to post three shutouts in 10 games, while also giving up 36, 58, and 60 points as well in losses.
If the Tigers can find improvement from key guys this year, this unit has the potential to be very good.
