Looking ahead to this regular season for the Panorama Panthers football team will have the Panthers going on quite the journey for their week three matchup.

The Panthers will be making the roughly hour and a half trip to Leon, Iowa to take on the Central Decatur Cardinals for their week three matchup. Last season, this was a contested game where the Cardinals were able to get the better of the Panthers by a final score of 14-5 but Panorama leads the historical matchup with an all-time record of 8-2 over Central Decatur.

Last season it was a struggle for both teams to move the ball as Cayden VanMeer finished 15/31 for 163 yards while Ryan Cogil chewed up 34 yards on the ground on 10 carries and both VanMeer and Cogil will look to be important pieces of the offense once again this year.

For the Cardinals Matthew Boothe went 9/18 for 104 yards and one touchdown through the air while Devin Adams rushed for 65 yards on 13 carries but both these players won’t be on the field for the Cardinals this year as they graduated last season.

During the week three matchup the Panthers will be looking to get the best of the Cardinals again for the ninth time since 2007 as they will be traveling to Leon to take on the Central Decatur Cardinals beginning at 7 p.m. September 9th.
